The Stone Pony To Reopen

The Stone Pony is re-opening for business with the christening of the “Stone Pony South Side,” a brand new outdoor seated beer garden.

The club will open 5 p.m. May 28, and will welcome live music performances starting with “The Nerds” on Saturday, May 29, as well as local Asbury Park favorite “Waiting on Mongo” on Sunday, May 30.

“Throughout the COVID crisis, The Stone Pony has hosted numerous live streams and online events to help support local musicians as well as to raise funds for Asbury Park and the state of New Jersey. But nothing beats a live performance, and we are incredibly thrilled to be able to re-open with live music events this summer,” says Caroline O’Toole, General Manager for the venue.

“We have an incredible list of performers lined up for our Summer Music Series that begins in July, and we are now proudly opening The Stone Pony South Side, an outdoor extension of the traditional Stone Pony venue, with two live performances over the Memorial Day weekend to give our guests a fun-filled, COVID-safe way to enjoy these popular bands,” O’Toole said.

The Summer Serie will return on July 31, with Southside Johnny, Almost Queen, Primus and the Shadow of the City festival all on the schedule.

Tickets for these preview beer garden events will be available beginning Friday, May 21, at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com After Memorial Day weekend, The Stone Pony South Side will be open Thursday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Guests are asked to continue to adhere to all state and local COVID safety guidelines for outdoor events and dining.
