Robbie Bachman of Bachman-Turner Overdrive Dead at 69
Robbie Bachman, drummer for Bachman-Turner Overdrive, passed away Thursday (Jan 12) at the age of 69, brother Randy Bachman announced on social media today.
“Another sad departure,” Randy shared on social media. “The pounding beat behind BTO, my little brother Robbie has joined Mum, Dad & brother Gary on the other side. Maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer! He was an integral cog in our rock ‘n’ roll machine and we rocked the world together.”
Formed in 1973, the original BTO lineup consisted of brothers Randy, Tim and Robbie Bachman and Fred Turner. The Canadian band’s second album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, featured two of their biggest hits, “Takin’ Care of Business,” and “Let It Ride.” Their other huge hit, “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” appeared on the next record, 1974’s Not Fragile.
