Eddie Van Halen Frankenstrat Up for Auction

One of Eddie Van Halen’s famed Frankenstrats is going up for auction at Heritage Auctions.

The Kramer Sriker/Ripley Frankenstrat–originally made for Van Halen in 1984 by Steve Ripley–was once gifted to Mountain guitarist Leslie West sometime between the years of 1985 and 1990.

The guitar is believed to have been used as a backup for the 1984 and 5150 tours, the auction reports.

Bidding opened at $10,000. The Auction closes on April 11.
