Bono Joins Cast of ‘Sing 2’
U2 frontman Bono is ready for his big screen closeup–sort of.
Bono will join the cast of the animated film, ‘Sing 2,’ the sequel to ‘Sing” featuring star Matthew McConaughey as koala Buster Moon. The sequel will follow the animal crooners in their quest to perform at a prestigious entertainment venue.
Bono, in his animated film debut, will portray lion Clay Calloway, who became the world’s most reclusive rock legend after the death of his wife.
Letitia Wright and Pharrell William will also join the cast, which includes Halsey, Bobby Cannavale, Chelsea Peretti, and Eric Andre. They join the returning voice cast of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton and Nick Kroll.
The movie is set for release on Dec. 22 2021.
Meanwhile, U2 has remastered the video of the band’s 2008 cover of Greg Lake’s “I Believe in Father Christmas.”
