Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Eddie Vedder Perform Virtually for ‘Stand With Teachers’ Event

Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Eddie Vedder and more stood with teachers supporting Steven Van Zandt’s educational TeachRock program with solo virtual performances Monday night (Dec. 21).

Springsteen offered an acoustic, introspective interpretation of the title track of “Letter to You,” while Browne got somewhat festive with his Christmas song, “The Rebel Jesus.”

“This is Bruce Springsteen, and I stand with teachers,” said Springsteen.

Vedder dedicated a rousing version of Springsteen’s “Growin’ Up” and a salute to the profession, which includes his younger brother, Mike. Margo price also performed with “The King is Dead.”

Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Buscemi, Sammy Hagar, Edward Norton, Bobby Cannavale, Maureen Van Zandt (Steven’s wife) and others chimed in with a reading of Mad Magazine’s version of “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.”

Also appearing was Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello.
