Aerosmith Announces Final Tour: “Peace Out”

Aerosmith will hit the road one last time for the band’s “Peace Out” tour, kicking off Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and continuing with two more local dates Jan. 19 at Madison Square Garden and The Prudential Center in Newark on Dec. 28, the band announced.

t’s not goodbye, it’s peace out!” said a joint statement attributed to the band members. “Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”

Founding drummer Joey Kramer, who sat out the group’s recent Las Vegas residence, will not be part of this tour, the announcement stated.

“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”

The hometown show for Boston on the tour is slated for New Year’s Eve.

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Aerosmith have sold more than 150 million albums around the world, including hits, “Dream On,” “Walk This Way,” and iconic videos for “Amazing,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,” “Livin’ On The Edge,” and “Love In An Elevator,”

The Black Crowes will open the Live Nation-produced trek. All dates go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
