1071 The Boss DJ Michele Amabile Gets Social with “Your Social Mask”
Hey there! It’s Michele! I have a question: how are you all doing with outdoor dining?
The restaurants are doing SUCH a good job making outdoor dining a safe and positive experience (Kudos to The Asbury Ale House in Asbury Park and all the restaurants on Cookman Avenue). It’s nice that at the table you do not have to wear a mask. This is how it’s set up at the Blu Grotto in Oceanport, for their outdoor concert series (Max Weinberg Jukebox in September and The Weeklings Aug. 22!) and it’s so enjoyable.
Now, what if you are aren’t comfortable going mask-less while at an event or out on the town? Perhaps you are at a party, and want to remain socially distant and wear a mask to protect others, but you still want to eat and drink? Maybe you are on the sidelines of your daughter or son’s game, and want to sit in the stands enjoying a soda without removing your mask. There isn’t always somewhere to eat on a boardwalk–so what do you do?
I have just discovered a new company based in Massachusetts–Your Social Mask. These entrepreneurs have solved the riddle of how one can eat AND drink in mask!
Your Social Mask is a comfortable face covering made out of 100 percent cotton material. It comes with a Velcro strip which opens and fastens on the side for access to your mouth for eating and drinking. Another cool feature? You can insert a straw from the bottom of the mask without ever unfastening it. You can even adjust the mask with the ear adjustment bands for a perfect fit!
Your Social Mask was created by Jennifer and Bob McMahon and manufactured by Adam Goldstein of Rafi Nova. They come in three colors-navy, black and light blue.
“We wanted to find a way for restaurants, bars, entertainment and sporting events to re-open and for patrons to enjoy a sense of comfort, confidence and community,” the McHahons said. “It’s all about respecting others and balancing community with commerce.”
Your Social Mask will donate a percentage of net profits to support World Central Kitchen and Restaurant Strong Fund.–
