ZZ Top’s New Album Includes Tracks with Late Dusty Hill
ZZ Top’s next album will include tracks recorded with the late Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbons shared in a new interview with Classic Rock.
The band is “currently reviewing the tracks that deserve completion,” he reveals to the magazine. Hill passed away in 2021. His replacement, Elwood Francis, is also on the record, which the band hopes to release this year.
“What’s fascinating is that we have three or four tracks with them both, they’re trading off,” he said. “The only tell-tale difference is that Dusty, playing with his fingers, sounds a little warmer.“
ZZ Top is hitting the road for its Sharped Dressed Simple Man Tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. The trek kicks off July 21 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Van Dusen has your tickets to the Sept. 10 show at the PNC Bank Arts Center all this week on 1071 The Boss. A complete list of dates can be found at zztop.com.
