Watch: Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony Pay Tribute to Eddie Van Halen
Former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony are paying tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen with the release of a new video on YouTube.
Hagar and Anthony’s band, The Circle,” are planning a tribute to Van Halen from the Catalina Island’s for this week’s virtual concert planned for Hagar’s birthday with a performance of “Right Now,” they hinted.
“After the unfortunate thing that happened with Eddie Van Halen yesterday, which for Mike and I was like getting hit by a freaking Mack truck, It kind of took the wind out of the sails,” Hagar said. “I just wanna say that I’m kind of devastated. A Van Halen song never felt so hard to sing and play in my life.”
Adds Anthony: “It was hard. It’s very surreal right now. It hasn’t sunk in yet.”
“We have the music,” Anthony continued.
“The music will live forever,” Hagar said.
Hagar will turn 73 on Oct. 13. His birthday bash will happen virtually on Oct. 17.
