Seaside Carousel to Reopen in New Location Next Month
Six years after it was dismantled from its original location at Casino Pier, The Floyd L. Moreland Carousel will officially reopen at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 in Seaside Heights, the borough said in an update on its website.
The carousel –which dates back to 1910– and was last operating in April 2019. It was reassembled last summer on the boardwalk’s North end in 2023. The New Jersey Historic Trust helped fund part of the project with a $750,000 grant.
The carousel passed state inspection on Monday, June 10. Members of the Seaside Heights Historical Society will take some of the first rides next weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29.
