Scott Stapp to Appear on Big Screen in Ronald Reagan Biopic

This weekend, Creed fans can see front man Scott Stapp on the big screen portraying an iconic New Jersey legend.

Stapp-currently on tour with Creed on the band’s “Summer of ’99” tour–will portray Frank Sinatra in the film Reagan, a biopic about former President Ronald Reagan. Dennis Quaid will portray the late President in the film, in theaters this Friday (Aug. 30).

In one scene, Stapp performs as Sinatra at Hollywood’s famed Cocoanut Grove nightclub, at a time when Reagan was president of the Screen Actors Guild.

“Sinatra in performance mode was an exercise in restraint. He had this steely, stylish swagger and his sheer presence commanded a room. I was excited to join the cast and blown away by the on-set attention to detail, style, and overall production,” Stapp said in a 2020 interview.

Creed has lots of love for Ole Blue Eyes.  Mark Tremonti released an album of Sinatra covers in 2022.

The cast includes Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman, Kevin Dillon as Jack Warner, and Jon Voight as a KGB agent who tracked Reagan for decades.
