Rod Stewart Wraps UK Tour Joined by his 94-Year-Old Sister
Rod Stewart wrapped his tour of the UK in Edinburgh with a secret surprise guest on stage: his 94-year-old sister, Mary.
Baby brother Rod, 78, brought his sister up in front of the crowd as he sung his 1975 track “Sailing”. Stewart donned a Yacht-rock-like sailor cap gifted by his sister. He also proudly waved the Royal Banner of the Scotland flag as he sang the tune.
“This is my sister! 94!” he exclaimed as he introduced his sibling.
Asked about the moment, Stewart told the Daily Mail, ‘At 94, she’s on a rock’n’roll stage and loving it. She has and continues to teach me about life.”
It was a happy night for the rocker, who lost two of his brothers Don and Bob died last year at the ages of 94 and 88 respectively. His older sister Peggy died from multiple sclerosis at the age of 40 in 1975.
