Rod Stewart Announces New Album Details
Rod Stewart will release his first album of new material in three years on Nov. 12, he announced today.
The album–The Tears of Hercules– features nine new original songs and three covers, including renditions of Johnny Cash‘s “These Are My People” and Soul Brothers Six‘s “Some Kind of Wonderful.”
“I’ve never said this before about any previous efforts, but I believe this is by far my best album in many a year,” Rod wrote in the liner notes.
One song, “Touchline,” explores his relationship with his father and how he passed on the love of soccer to Rod and his sons.
Rod will launch a new residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on October 6.
