Press Play: Music of 1981 Comes to Tim McLoone’s Supper Club Feb. 11
The music of the ’80s will be celebrated with an ongoing series presented by Ray Andersen, with the first show kicking off Feb. 11 at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club in Asbury Park.
The series, “Press Play: The Soundtrack of Our Lives…One Year at a Time,” launches with the year 1981, showcasing music by “Stevie Nicks, Billy Idol, Stray Cats, Duran Duran, Squeeze, Tom Petty, Blondie, Talking Heads, the Pretenders, Psychedelic Furs, the Cramps, the Cars, the Go-Go’s…and many more…,” Andersen shares.
“The Songs of 1981” will feature entertainers Andersen, Reagan Richards (of Williams Honor), Layonne Holmes, Ralph Notaro, Arne Wendt, David Anthony and Mike Doktorski.
Andersen, better known as children’s musician mr. Ray, has been writing and performing for children from pre-K to fifth grade for nearly 27 years. He has toured with the late rock icon Meat Loaf as his guitarist/keyboardist/backup singer. He has performed with Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Chuck Berry, and has recorded music for many national television commercial, including Publishers Clearing House.
