Mick Jagger and Dave Grohl Team Up for Pandemic ‘Song of the Summer’
Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl have teamed up for the surprise anthem of the Covid-19 pandemic, “Eazy Sleazy,” just released today (April 13).
The song–showcased in a socially distanced video–features Mick on vocals and Grohl on everything else.
“It’s a song that I wrote about coming out of lockdown, with some much needed optimism,” Jagger said in a release. “Thanks to Dave Grohl for jumping on drums, bass and guitar, it was a lot of fun working with him. – hope you all enjoy Eazy Sleazy.”
Grohl added: “It’s hard to put into words what recording this song with Sir Mick means to me. It’s beyond a dream come true. Just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier……and it’s the song of the summer, without a doubt!!”
As for the lyrics, the song nails everything about the pandemic–zoom calls, cancelled shows, watching too much television and vaccines.
“Cancel all the tours, football’s fake applause, no more travel brochure…trying to write a tune, better hook me up to Zoom. Shooting the vaccine, Bill Gates in my bloodstream.”
