Manalapan Community Comes Together for Annual ‘Turkey Time’ Drive

It’s Turkey Time!

The Manalapan community is once again coming together this November for the annual ‘Turkey Time’ Thanksgiving Basket Drive, collecting food and monetary donations to help neighbors in need this holiday season.

This year’s objective is to assist over 1,000 families in the area struggling to put a meal on their Thanksgiving table.

“Turkey Time”–now recognized as a non-profit organization– is partnering with the Manalapan Soccer Club, Manalapan PBA Local 229, Englishtown PBA Local 166, the Gordons Corner Fire Department and Rita Havey to provide meals to families in Manalapan and across Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex Counties. All baskets are set for delivery on November 23.

The drive–organized by Manalapan resident Jamie Bruno–is asking for donations of a complete basket or single food item or a $50 donation to sponsor a family. Families may also be nominated to receive a basket as well.

Items needed include: Turkey or Ham, Gravy, Boxed Mashed Potatoes, Canned Veggies (corn, green beans, etc.), Boxed Stuffing, Mac & Cheese, Cornbread or Corn Muffin Mix, Canned Yams and Marshmallows, Pasta and Sauce, Juice, Canned Fruits, Desserts, Aluminum Roasting Pans, Paper Products and baskets for the items.
