Loverboy Release New Track Ahead of Summer Tour
Loverboy is getting ready to hit the road this summer for the Live and Unzoomed tour–coming to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on August 20- with Styx and REO Speedwagon, and to celebrate the band is releasing a brand new song recorded in lockdown.
“Release” –inspired by a 2005 documentary: Metal: A Headbangers Journey– is available now via streaming services, while a video for the tune has premiered at Loverboy’s YouTube channel.
“It started out as a frustrated call to action, after months of lock down, and morphed into a metal anthem about the loyalty and commitment of that audience,” said guitarist Paul Dean.
Speaking to 1071 The Boss mid-day host Michele Amabile, front man Mike Reno said of the tour: “It’s going to be three-four months of craziness,” he said.
Reno also reminisced about Loverboy’s early days on MTV, the popularity of vinyl, and the new use he found for his red bandana due to the pandemic.
