Lady Gaga -‘Vestal Virgin of Las Vegas- Takes U2 to Church on Stage at the Sphere
Viva Las Vegas! U2’s residency at the MSG Sphere gave fans a big surprise at Wednesday night’s (Oct. 25) show with special guest, Lady Gaga, joining the band for three songs, including her hit, “Shallow.”
Gaga–clad in her own fly black leather jacket--came on stage as Bono gave her a glowing introduction as “the most audacious, vivacious woman in any room she’s ever in. Would you welcome to our turntable, the divine — the divinyl! — Lady Gaga.”
Gaga duetted with Bono during the middle set on the Rattle and Hum favorite, “All I Want is You,” The Joshua Tree’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” and then was seemingly goaded into “Shallow” by the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers.
“Take it to the Elvis chapel!” said Bono in the middle of “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” — further telling his duet partner, “You are the vestal virgin of Las Vegas!”
Lady Gaga has had a busy month. Just last week she joined The Rolling Stones on stage at Racket in New York City to perform “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” (from the new album, Hackney Diamonds) introduced Bad Bunny on Saturday Night Live, and was spotted at the Sphere watching the U2 show with George Clooney.
