Haven Madison Rocks out to Bon Jovi on ‘American Idol’

It was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame night on American Idol, and New Jersey’s very own Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Bon Jovi were represented when contestant Haven Madison busted out her version of the anthem, “Livin’ on a Prayer,” earning a spot in the top 10.

Madison–who was joined by her father on guitar in a mentoring session with American Idol alum and Queen front man Adam Lambert–worked out an arrangement which Lambert felt was “intimate,” but encouraged her to let her “technique go.”

“Haven’s ability to take this song and make it her own especially at that young age, that’s impressive,” he said.

After the 16-year-old student from Clarksville, Tennessee’s performance, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan applauded her and praised her choice.

“I don’t know who you are….I’m threatened…you’re the next big pop star,” said Katy Perry following the performance. “You done traded in your Flintstone vitamins for some confidence vitamins. You are the next big pop star as far as this performance.

“Lionel Ritchie followed it up by saying, “You were ready for this…your confidence is staring us in your face…there is a star written all over you” while Bryan said “It was a huge look for you. It was a huge breakout for you.”
