Grandparents Rock: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo Announce New Book
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo aren’t your typical grandparents.
The rock and roll duo are now co-authors of a forthcoming picture book, “My Grandma and Grandpa Rock!”
The picture book, wrotten by Benatar, 71, and Giraldo, 68, is celebrates everything about grandparents that “rock” be it singing, dancing or just spending time together. The rockers hope that grandparents and grandchildren everywhere will see themselves in the pages of this book and love reading it as much as we loved writing it.”
The book, which features illustrations by Tiffany Everett, will be published by Sourcebooks in fall 2025.
“Everything they said about having grandchildren is true,” Benatar and Giraldo told People magazine. “When we met in 1979, having children was one of our dreams. We were blessed with two beautiful daughters and now have three darling grandchildren ― our dream on steroids!”
The Giraldos are parents to daughters Haley, 39, and Hana, 30, and grandparents to Stevie, 6, Lola, 4, and Cash, 2.
“Our grandbabies know that we are musicians and songwriters,” they continue. “They’ve seen our live concerts and watch our videos. To them, we’re simply grandma and papa.”
