Elvis Costello and The Imposters Announce Red Bank Tour Date at The Count Basie Theatre
Grammy Award winning artist Elvis Costello and the Imposters are set to appear at the Hackensack Meredian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center for the Arts on Oct. 22, it was announced today.
The 20-date “Hello Again” tour kicks off in Memphis, Tennessee at Graceland on October 10th. It will make stops in cities like New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles before wrapping up at Fox Theater in Oakland, California on November 14th.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer released his most recent album, the Hey Clockface, in November before closing out last year with “Farewell, OK 2020.” On September 10th, Costello will release Spanish Model, a reimagining of 1978’s This Year’s Model. The project will feature collaborations with Spanish-speaking artists like Juanes, Jorge Drexler, and Luis Fonsi singing translated versions of the original tracks.
2017 marked the 40th anniversary of the release his first record album, “My Aim Is True”.
His best known songs include the hits “Radio, Radio,” “Alison”, “Pump It Up”, “Everyday I Write The Book” and his rendition of the Nick Lowe song, “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace Love and Understanding”.
His record catalogue of more than thirty albums includes the contrasting pop and rock & roll
albums, “This Year’s Model”, ”Armed Forces”, “Imperial Bedroom”, “Blood and Chocolate” and “King Of
America,” as well as collaborations with Paul McCartney along with an album of country covers, “Almost Blue” and two collections of orchestrally accompanied piano ballads, “Painted From Memory” – with Burt Bacharach and “North.
Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. In the
same year, Costello was awarded ASCAP’s prestigious Founder’s Award. In 2004 Costello was nominated for an Oscar for Best Song – “The Scarlet Tide,” co-written with T Bone Burnett and sung by Alison Krauss in the motion picture “Cold Mountain” In 2016 Elvis Costello was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in the company of Chip Taylor
and Tom Petty.
