Duran Duran Returns With New Song; Record Announcement
Duran Duran will release their 15th studio album this fall, the band announced today.
The album–titled Future Past–it their first with their new label, BMG, and is due Oct. 22.
The lead song — “Invisible,”– centers on a dysfunctional relationship, and features Blur’s Graham Coxon on guitar. The group will perform it on the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday.
“It kind of started with the beat, frontman Simon Le Bon told BBC Radio 2. “It’s got a very, very assertive drum track, it’s really all about the rhythm. I just had to fit in a melody around that, really.”
The record is packed with producers, including Erol Alkan, Giorgio Moroder and Mark Ronson, who worked with the group on their 2010 release All You Need Is Now. David Bowie’s former pianist Mike Garson also contributes to the disc.
