David Bowie Tribute Show Announced
It’s hard to believe it almost five years since David Bowie left us, but his memory will be honored with an anniversary concert set for Jan. 8.
The livestream event–headed up by his Spiders From Mars keyboardist Mike Garson–will feature contributions from Def Leppard‘s Joe Elliott, Trent Reznor, William Corgan, Perry Farrell, Bush‘s Gavin Rossdale, the Cult‘s Ian Astbury, and more.
In other Bowie related news, this weekend is the release of three live Bowie shows. The first release on CD and double vinyl is David Bowie Ouvrez Le Chien (Live In Dallas 95), which is set for October 30th, and was previously a streaming-only live album, recorded live at Dallas’ Starplex Amphitheater on October 13th, 1995 during the U.S. leg of the Outside tour.
The first three albums and the special limited edition boxes will be released pre-Christmas, with the remaining three albums coming early in 2021.
Tickets for Mike Garson’s Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day are currently on sale at rollinglivestudios.com/bowie, with discounted tickets offered through Nov. 1. A variety of VIP ticket bundles are available offering fans a variety of exclusive opportunities and merchandise including everything from access to private rehearsals to access to a pre-show soundcheck and an after-show Q&A with members of the band.
The show will kick off at 9 pm EST.
