Count Basie Center Announces Venue Mask, Vaccine Policy Change

The Count Basie Center for the Arts is making a big change with its venue rules regarding masks and vaccination cards.

Effective today (March 7)), the theater will no longer require proof of vaccination for entry at the theater, The Vogel or Basie Center Cinemas, reads an announcement on Instagram. The policy was previously in effect from Sept. 8 2021.

“Masks are not required, though we strongly encourage their use and respect all patrons who choose to continue doing so,” the Red Bank venue continued.

The Basie also “reserves the right to amend this policy as necessary, including at the request of certain artists or touring productions.”

The Basie’s announcement follows last weeks new guidance outlined by the Prudential Center in Newark, who lifted the mask and vaccination mandates for New Jersey Devils games and concerts unless otherwise requested by touring artists.

In other news:   Monday night’s (March 7) IT WAS 50 YEARS AGO TODAY performance at the Basie Center has been postponed to June 20 at 7:30 p.m.
