Cher Announces First Ever Christmas Album with Duets Featuring Darlene Love, Cyndi Lauper and More
It’s still technically summer, but the coolest news of the Yule season today comes courtesy of Cher, who is about to release her first Christmas album, titled simply “Christmas.”
The 77-year-old legend took to social media to announce the news, asking fans, ” ‘Are you spending Christmas with me?'”
The album, set for release on Oct. 20, will include big duets with Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, Tyga, and a big collaboration with Darlene Love on the Christmas Classic, “Christmas, Baby Please Come Home.”
“SURPRISE!!! Here’s the EXCITING news that I’ve been HINTING to you all!!!!,” an excited Love shared on Facebook. “Can’t wait for you all to hear my duet of “Christmas Baby, Please Come Home” with my dear friend Cher!!! I’m so excited for this!! This is one of the BEST duets I’ve EVER done!!! I’m so so proud and honored to be part of Cher’s FIRST EVER Christmas album and to be reconnected with Cherilyn Sarkisian whom I’ve known before she became CHER the mega star!! The album will released on Oct 20th and avail on Amazon!“
Cher teased the album with an appearance on Good Morning Britain this week, saying “I really am proud of this. It’s a Cher Christmas album. It’s not your mother’s Christmas album.”
‘I’m really, really excited because there’s millions of people on it!’ she added.
‘I’ve never had duets! I’ve never had people on any of my records! This was a last-minute thing… but they’re special. All of them,” she said.
