Bruce Springsteen Talks Tour, Health Scares and More on Forthcoming ABC Special
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bruce Springsteen is opening up about his wife/E Street Band member Patti Scialfa’s cancer diagnosisin a new trailer promoting Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets, hosted by Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos on ABC.
“She’s doing good, we caught it early, which was important,” Springsteen shared. “It’s a tough disease, it’s very fatiguing.”
The special also features interviews with Springsteen and other members of the E Street Band, as well as footage from recent shows in Washington D.C. and the Stone Pony one night before he headlined at the Sea.Hear.Now Festival on Sept. 15.
Springsteen also attended the USC Shoah Foundation’s30th Anniversary Gala “Ambassadors For Humanity” event at the New York Hilton on Monday (Oct. 13). The gala focused on Holocaust survivors and other genocides including Cambodia, Armenian, Rwanda as well as the Oct 7 massacre in Israel. Springsteen performed three acoustic songs, including “Dancing in the Dark,” for an audience that inscluded Itzak Perlman, Steven Spielberg, and Meryl Streep.
Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets will premiere Oct. 20 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
