Bon Jovi, Grammy Award®-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band, continues their 40th anniversary celebration with the release of the brand new song, “Legendary,” the first release from the band’s upcoming 16th studio album, “Forever,” due June 7.
The new song, which premiered this morning, was first performed last month in conjunction with the 66th annual Grammy Awards when Jon Bon Jovi was named 2024 MusiCares Person of the year with an all-star tribute that included Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain, Melissa Etheridge, Sammy Hagar, Jason Isbell, Jelly Roll, Pat Monahan of Train, and many others.
A new video–directed by Dano Cerny– features the entire band first in a studio and then in a grassy field, where several young people are enjoying planetary star-gazing.
“I raise my hands up to the sky / Don’t need more to tell me I’m alive” sings Bon Jovi on the new single, a nod to his past struggles over the last four years.
“This record is a return to joy. From the writing, through the recording process, this is turn up the volume, feel good Bon Jovi,” said Jon Bon Jovi in a statement.
The new album is now available for pre-order HERE where fans can find exclusive colored vinyl options, CDs, cassettes, and limited edition signed copies. An extremely limited run of Ocean Waves colored vinyl will include a one-of-a-kind instant photo of Jon.
The commemoration of BON JOVI’s 40th anniversary year continues tonight (March 14) at the SXSW Conference, when HULU premieres the four-part docu-series Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story. The docu-series will officially debut on HULU on April 26th.
