Billy Joel Selling Long Island Mansion
The tax man cometh for every man–including rock stars.
Billy Joel is selling his Long Island mansion, nicknamed MiddleSea, for just under $50 million due to high taxation. According to Joel, the tax bill for the home he bought in 2002 is $567,686, and that’s just too much.
“It’s not cheap, let’s put it that way,” he told the New York Times. “As successful, I’ve been financially, yeah, that’s, you know, that’s a lot.”
Joel is now looking to make his Florida address permanent due to his daughters, age 7 and 9, being of school age.
