Billy Joel Announces Show Number 91 at Madison Square Garden; Philadelphia Show with Stevie Nicks
Billy Joel is getting closer to 100 shows at Madison Square Garden.
The Piano Man will continue the longest run at the arena with his 91st show, taking place on May 5.
Joel was named Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise in December, 2013, joining the ranks of the storied venue’s other original franchises – the New York Knicks and New York Rangers. The record-breaking residency began in January 2014 with Joel playing one show every month at The Garden, “as long as the demand continues,” says Joel.
In addition, Joel and Stevie Nicks will perform together at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, June 16, 2023. Tickets for that show will go on sale Dec. 16 at 10 a.m.
Joel is a six-time GRAMMY® Award winner, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. He has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards including a TONY AWARD for “Movin’ Out,” a Broadway musical based on Joel’s music. For his accomplishments as a musician and as a humanitarian, Joel was honored as the 2002 MusiCares Person Of The Year by the MusiCares Foundation and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, according to a statement.
