Beatles “Get Back” Documentary Delayed

Bad news for Beatles fans hoping to get an alternate look at The Beatles Let It Be recording sessions–the documentary won’t be released until late next summer.

 Peter Jackson‘s much-anticipated Beatles documentary, The Beatles: Get Back, had been scheduled to premiere this September 4, but the flick now will debut on August 27, 2021, Walt Disney Studios reports.

55 hours of unseen footage shot in early 1969 was meant to be unveiled in the film. Additionally, Jackson fans would get to hear 140 hours of mostly unheard audio recordings from the sessions.

A 50th anniversary reissue of Let It Be was expected to be issued around the time of Get Back, but it’s not clear if that release now will be delayed as well.
