American Idol Top 9 Finalist Casey Bishop Talks Disney Week, Duet with Brandon Boyd and Finale Wish List
American Idol Top 9 finalist Casey Bishop, who wowed the judges two weeks ago with her beautiful rendition of “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz, is a rocker at heart, but is ready to show off her animated side with the ABC’s show’s Disney Week episode.
Going to Disney World is exciting for the other contestants, but being from Florida, Bishop is a pro when it comes to the Magic Kingdom.
“I live literally 3 hours away,” she laughs.
Bishop called in to talk all things Idol with mid-day host Michele Amabile, and so far she is having a ball getting to rock out to songs by The Black Crowes, Paramore, and joining Incubus leader Brandon Boyd for a duet of “Wish You Were Here.”
“He was awesome,” she said. “I could not have ask for a better partner.”
Bishop had plenty to share with Michele, especially the love she received from celebrities like Idol alum Haley Reinhart, the Soundgarden camp, and Chris Cornell’s daughter, Lily Cornell, who reached out on Instagram after Bishop covered “Black Hole Sun,” a performance that wowed judge Luke Bryan.
“Wow, you can sing anything you want to,” he told her April 11 after she performed Soundgarden’s grunge-rock hit, “Black Hole Sun.” “I mean, there’s so many amazing notes in what you just did. And it was Soundgarden, and it was crazy!”
