1071 The Boss Sweeps Three Categories at Asbury Park Press Community Choice Awards
1071 The Boss swept three categories–including ‘Best Radio Station’– Thursday night (Nov. 14) at the third annual Community Choice awards gala at iPlay America in Freehold Township.
The ceremony–hosted by the Asbury Park Press–recognized favorite businesses and organizations in Monmouth and Ocean counties chosen by the newpaper’s readers in online voting. There were over 160 categories.
This is the second year in a row 1071 The Boss took the award for ‘Best Radio Station.’
“We are so honored!! The station took home best radio station, Robby & Rochelle took home best personality, and NorEasterNick took home best weather personality!!,” said morning co-host Rochelle Bridges. “Thank you so much to all of those who voted, we are so grateful to have your ear everyday!”
The “Robby & Rochelle” morning show–featuring personalities Robby and Rochelle Bridges, Meteorologist NorEaster Nick, traffic reporter Joe Nolan, news woman Valerie Segraves, and sports reporter/producer Kermit--won for “Best Personality/Show.” The category was won the year before by afternoon drive host, Cane.
Additionally, NorEaster Nick took top honors for ‘Best Weather Reporter.’
“Absolutely honored to have won Asbury Park Press’s best of Ocean County (weather),” Nick wrote on Facebook. “Thank you so much for your support and trusting in me. I was up against some really big names from the NYC market. Humbling!”
