The Most Popular Halloween Decorations in NJ, Says Survey

It’s the spooky season, and according to a recent survey the most popular decoration in New Jersey is…pumpkins!

The spider and its spooky web is also what it’s all about in the Garden State, but THE most popular decoration in all of the United States is…skeletons, according to lombardohomes.com.

Pumpkins are second, followed by spiders in third place, and rounded out by witches , bats, ghosts , tombstones, animal skeletons (there are multiple sightings of dog skeletons in the Garden State as well), black cats, and corn stalks.

But the state MOST into decorating for Halloween isn’t what you would think. That honor goes to Utah–not Massachusetts.  Utah is followed by Illinois , New Jersey , Texas and New Mexico.

The  East Coast are big pumpkins fans while West Coasters likes bats. Corn stalks are unusually popular in the Midwest, but one of the weirder stats belongs to Nebraska and Arkansas for preferring animal skeletons more than most. Also:  bats are popular out west , while witches are big in the northern part of the country and pumpkins are #1 in the southeast.

And how much do we spend? Roughly $145 on Halloween decorations, and 3.3 hours putting them up.
