Paul McCartney to Publish New Children’s Book Next Week

Paul McCartney enjoys being a grandfather so much he has authored another children’s book, “Grandude’s Green Submarine.”

The book–the follow-up to 2019’s “Hey, Grandude!”–continues the magical adventures of Grandude and his four grandchildren in his green submarine in a search for their grandma, “Nandude.”

When a fan asked in a live chat why the submarine wasn’t yellow, the Beatle icon answered in his usual, jovial manner.

“I have been there and done that with the Yellow Submarine,” McCartney said. “[T]his green one is related, but has completely different powers than the Yellow Submarine had.”

Paul says his own grandchildren keep him entertained, and it inspired him to continue writing his tales, with illustrations by Kathryn Durst.

“Writing Grandude’s adventures is something I love, so it made sense to keep going and write more of his story,” he said.

Grandude’s Green Submarine gets released on October 5 in the U.S. You can pre-order the book now.
