New Jersey Tops List of Ice Cream Loving States

When it comes to sweet treats, New Jersyans sure love ice cream–so much so residents top the list of states buying the most ice cream in the nation.

In a new survey by Zippia, the Garden State ranks third out of states with ice cream lovers, placing just behind Oklahoma and California, which ranked first. New York ranks fourth while Pennsylvania rounded out the top 10 in tenth.

Who buys the least ice scream? That would be Minnesota.

How did they come to this conclusion? According to Gravy Analytics, location intelligence was utilized to compare people patronizing ice cream venues nationwide, from January 2017 to March 2018. They then compared population numbers determining which states eat the most ice cream for their size.

July is National Ice Cream Month, and on average, Americans consume 12.1 pounds of ice cream every year.
