Elton John Sets Touring Record

Elton John has set another box office record.

The Rocket Man’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” is now the highest earning concert tour of all time, according to Billboard.

 So far, the tour has taken in $817.9 million across 278 shows — and the run isn’t over yet. Billboard says it’s the first tour in its archives to earn more than $800 million. By comparison, Ed’s tour took in $776.4 million. Elton started 2023 with big earnings  January 8 through January 24 in Australia and New Zealand. That allowed him to cross the finish line to the record-breaking milestone, with even more shows in Europe expected to bring the tally to $900 million.

As for Elton’s career earnings on the road, he has over $1.863 billion grossed and 19.9 million tickets sold.
