Elton John Announces MetLife Stadium Date

Sir Elton John will resume his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour this summer, and announced on YouTube his “final tour dates ever in North America and Europe.”

Elton will say farewell to the Garden State at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on July 23. Pre-sale tickets through American Express go on sale June 29 at 10 am (Password: Farewell) and tickets for the general public go on sale the next day (June 30) at 10 a.m. Boss listeners can win them before they can buy them by listening to Jack Speers and Dianne DeOliveira every morning from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the 1071 The Boss Morning Show.

“I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career,” he said in the video. “Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time.”

He adds, “This has been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows.”

The North American dates kick off at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on July 15, 2022, and will conclude November 19 and 20, 2022, with two shows at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, the site of his legendary performance in October of 1975. The tour will wrap in 2023.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour kicked off September 8, 2018 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Since then, it has grossed $359 million in ticket sales, and is one of the top 10 top-grossing concert tours of all time. Recently winning the 2021 iHeartRadio “Golden Icon” Award, the tour has also received top accolades including the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Award for “Tour Of The Year,” 2020 Pollstar “Major Tour of the Year” and the 2019 Billboard Music Award for the “Top Rock Tour.
