David Lee Roth Honors Eddie Van Halen with New Song

David Lee Roth paid tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen with a song, dubbed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bar and Grill,” dedicated to the guitarist.

The track—released on YouTube–included a message “Hey Ed I’m gonna miss ya,” on the album art. “See you on the other side.”

The song borrows a few measures from Judy Garland’s classic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from the Wizard of Oz with a nod to Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock” in the lyrics.

Van Halen passed away Oct. 6 due to complications from a decades-long battle with throat cancer. He was 65 years old.
