Bruce Springsteen Reveals New Music is ‘Great to Play Live’ (Watch)

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will release their new album, “Letter to You,” this Friday (Oct. 23), and Springsteen opened up about his frustration with being unable to tour it due to Covid-19.

“This is great material to play live,” he told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “It’s very painful to not be able to go out and play right now, because this is material that’ll play incredibly on stage.”

Springsteen also suggested that his new music was reminiscent of the early E Street sound,

“I wanted to go back to a style probably closest, you’d have to go back to maybe ‘Born To Run’, where I gave [pianist Roy Bittan] free rein on the piano… the songs fit those kinds of arrangements.”

Springsteen will appear this Wednesday night (Oct. 21) on Stephen Colbert. The new documentary, “Letter to You,” debuts on Apple TV this Friday.
