Bruce Springsteen Celebrates 45th Anniversary of ‘Darkness’ Album

Bruce Springsteen is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the release of his 1978 album, “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” with a playlist of live tracks from that record.

Bruce has released a  20-song playlist from the 1978 Darkness tour, featuring previously unavailable performances, every song from the classic album, plus other bonus material.

In addition, a new trailer for the  2010 Thom Zimny-directed documentary The Promise is promoting the documentary, available now for viewing. In the trailer, Springsteen talks about the struggle to make the music sound as big on record as it did “in my head.”

Darkness was released on 6/2/1978, peaking at #5 on the album chart that summer. The record has been certified three-times Platinum by the RIAA.
