Bret Michaels Inducted into Central Pennsylvania Hall of Fame Ahead of Hershey Park Concert

Poison front man Bret Michaels received a hero’s welcome in his home state of Pennsylvania today with an induction into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall Of Fame (CPMHOF) today (July 12).

Michaels will celebrate tonight with a sold-out show at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey Park Stadium in front of an audience that will include family and friends from his hometown.

“As a non-profit organization focused on music education for the local youth, the CPMHOF is honored to recognize Bret Michaels in a positive light. Bret has always held a special place in the hearts of Central Pennsylvanians, and this fall, he’ll officially be immortalized in our local Hall Of Fame,” said Brandon Valentine, president and founder of the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall Of Fame.

Michaels, born in Butler, Pa, expressed his excitement for being inducted at tonight’s stop of the Stadium tour with Def Leppard, Joan Jett and Motley Crue.

“Being born and bred in Pennsylvania, I am proud to be inducted as an individual into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall Of Fame, with POISON also having also been inducted on the first-ever ballot.”

“I am beyond excited to be playing Hersheypark Stadium this evening. Come rain or shine. It’s going to be a party and the people of Pennsylvania always rock my world.”

“As the son of a veteran, my mother and father taught me the importance of hard work through a blue-collar Pennsylvania upbringing,” Michaels added. “I was raised with an unbroken fighting spirit who never

That unbroken spirit remains in Michaels, who announced on Instagram today that his health issues as a diabetic will derail his participation in his favorite activity-meet and greets with the fans.

“Every day I’m doing all I can to stay healthy and get on that stage including iv’s and all meds. I’ve waited 2 years for this awesome tour but under strict doctors advisement due to the combination of severe dehydration, diabetes no rest and several other factors I unfortunately will not be able to attend several of the upcoming meet and greets which I love doing but I highly encourage you to meet they other guys, as they are awesome,” he wrote. “For now, I must save all my energy for the stage, especially tonight in Central Pennsylvania where all my family and friends will be in attendance and where I was proudly raised and inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Hall of Fame today…I will give all I’ve got tonight on that stage rain or shine and am grateful for the sold-out Hershey Park Stadium!!!”

The Hall Of Fame sought to acknowledge Michaels for his extraordinary individual merits and achievements as a solo musician, singer/songwriter in addition to his outstanding accomplishments as a reality TV producer and star, and an entrepreneur who won “Celebrity Apprentice” and partnered with brands such as PetSmartOverstock and The Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, to name a few. He recently helped to pass a state bill in the California Senate for education and affordable medicine for diabetics. He also has a career-long dedication to giving back through his Life Rocks Foundation, which saw him twice recognized as the Humanitarian Of The Year and also as a World College Radio Ambassador.
