Basie Center Announces Arts Scholarships for Graduating Monmouth Seniors

The Count Basie Center for the Arts  is offering six, $2,500 scholarships: the Moser Taboada Arts Impact Scholarship, the Amy Giinther Fredericks Music Education Scholarship, the Yvonne Lamb Scudiery Arts Impact Scholarship, a scholarship gifted by Count Basie Center Board of Trustees and Education committee member Michael Parent, and an additional scholarship made available by an anonymous donor. In addition, the Monmouth County Commissioners Basie Center Scholarship for Continuing Education will be offered to a graduating Monmouth County senior continuing their college education in New Jersey.

Also available is the Bank of America Power of the Arts Award, which awards $2,500 to a graduating senior who best demonstrates the impact of the arts on their life.

“We’re grateful to Bank Of America, Moser-Toboada, and the Monmouth County Commissioners, Michael Parent and all donors responsible for funding this year’s series of scholarships and awards,” said Samantha Giustiniani, Senior Director of Education at the Count Basie Center for the Arts. “These awards recognize students who best exemplify what the Count Basie Center has long professed: that the presence of arts education is vital to our schools and communities”

Students may apply for each scholarship by visiting, populating the application form and creating an official entry packet, consisting of an essay, resume and two personal recommendations. The thesis of the essay and spirit of the Basie’s Arts Impact Scholarship program is “The Impact of The Arts in My Life.” Applicants may submit their entire packet via this link, or print the application form for submission via U.S. mail.

Deadline for this year’s applications is 4pm on Friday, April 15, 2022. Recipients will be announced in May and invited along with their families to a reception at the Basie Center where they’ll meet the generous donors behind the Arts Impact scholarships.
