McDonald’s New York Metro Foosball Youth Series

June 20 @ 8:00 am - July 17 @ 5:00 pm

McDonald’s NY Metro Kicks Off FIFA World Cup™–Inspired Foosball Youth Series, Offering Students a Shot at $5K Grant

As global anticipation builds around the FIFA World Cup™, McDonald’s New York Metro is bringing that energy directly to local communities with the launch of the McDonald’s New York Metro Foosball Youth Series, a regional tournament program designed to engage 7th–to 12th–grade–age students (12-18 years old) students through friendly competition and community connection.

Conducted in partnership with the non-profit Foosball Clubs USA, the initiative will feature nine foosball tournaments hosted at McDonald’s restaurants across the New York Metro area, culminating in a championship event where the winning participant will receive a $5,000 educational grant.

Inspired by the global enthusiasm surrounding the FIFA World Cup™ and the sport’s deep cultural resonance in diverse communities across the region, the program introduces youth to foosball, a fast-paced tabletop game often associated with soccer.

“Global sporting moments like the FIFA World Cup™ have the power to bring people together in meaningful ways,” said Brian Hairston, President of the New York Metro McDonald’s Owner-Operators Association. “For McDonald’s New York Metro Owner-Operators, supporting the communities we serve has always been at the heart of what we do. Through this Foosball Youth Series, we’re creating spaces where young people can connect, feel inspired, and access opportunities that support their growth—continuing our long-standing commitment to making a positive impact at the local level.”

Michael Stahl, Executive Director at Foosball Clubs USA, a New York-founded non-profit, added, “At its core, foosball is about strategy, teamwork, and competitive spirit—values that help young people grow both on and off the table. Partnering with McDonald’s New York Metro brings together two organizations that believe in the power of play to create opportunity. Together, we’re expanding access to a game that builds confidence, sharpens thinking, and brings communities closer through shared competition.”

The tournament will take place from June 20th through July 17.

In addition to the competition itself, the initiative is designed to create a lasting community impact. At the conclusion of the series, all foosball tables used during the tournaments will be donated to local youth organizations, helping ensure young people throughout the region can continue to benefit from the game long after the tournament ends.

7th–to 12th–grade–age students (12-18 years old) across the New York Metro area are invited to participate in the McDonald’s New York Metro Foosball Youth Series. Students interested in competing can learn more and register at FoosballClubsUSA.com. Space is limited for each tournament, and participants are encouraged to sign up early.
