Weezer Bassist Scott Shriner to Join The Cars at RRHOF

The Cars have found a bassist to fill in for the late Benjamin Orr at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday (April 14): Scott Shriner of Weezer.

The honor is a big one for the Toledo, Ohio native, who will take the stage in Cleveland for the big night.

“There are a few bands that influenced my musical passion as a young man and The Cars are at the Top of the list,” said Shriner. “As such, it is with great excitement that I announce my guest appearance with them during their performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction show this Saturday in Cleveland.”

Ric Ocasek has a special connection to Weezer: he produced three of the band’s albums.

Killers frontman Brandon Flowers will induct the Boston band.
