Watch the First Trailer for the Elton John Biopic, ‘Rocketman’ (Video)

The first trailer for the Elton John biopic, Rocketman, was revealed this morning (Feb. 21).

The film, set for release on May 31, explores the early career and story of John, including his early decision to change his name, partnership with Bernie Taupin, and struggles with addiction and sexual identity in the ’70s.

“So how does a fat boy from nowhere get to be a song man,” Egerton, as Elton, asks.

Watch the trailer–which opens with the iconic piano anthem, “Bennie and the Jets” and includes star Taron Egerton singing the classic, “Tiny Dancer.”

Rocketman also stars Jamie Bell as Taupin,  Richard Madden as John’s first manager, John Reid, Bryce Dallas Howard as the musician’s mother, Sheila Farebrother. Dexter Fletcher directed the film.
