Watch Journey Cover The Police for New Project
Three members of Journey have contributed a cover of The Police’s “Synchronicity II” to the forthcoming Rock Against Trafficking project.
Journey guitarist Neal Schon, singer Arnel Pineda and drummer Steve Smith recorded the seven and a half minute song at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California. Neal co-produced and arranged the track with Garry Miller, the veteran British producer and musician who launched the Rock Against Trafficking campaign.
The record includes covers of songs by Sting and The Police, with selections recorded by Heart, Julian Lennon, ex-Deep Purple bassist/singer Glenn Hughes, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, former Yes frontman Jon Anderson, Paul Carrack and late Free bassist Andy Fraser. In addition, Carlos Santana has signed on to contribute to the project.
Journey is currently on tour with Def Leppard.
