Tom Petty Greatest Hits Collection Gets 2019 Release Date (Listen)

A new career-spanning Tom Petty greatest hits collection, titled The Best of Everything, will arrive on Feb. 1.

The 38-song set spans 1976-2016, and will feature selections not only from Petty’s solo work, but also from his time with The Heartbreakers and Mudcrutch.  The record includes two previously unreleased tracks, including the collection’s lead single—an alternate version of the title track which includes a never-before heard second verse. The song was originally recorded for the 1985 record, Southern Accents.

Academy Award winner Cameron Crowe contributed an essay on Petty for the set, which will be released simultaneously as a 2-disc CD, featuring deluxe packaging, and in all digital formats. LP editions—in both black and clear vinyl—on February 1.
