Congratulations to Sir Paul McCartney, who has been selected for Israel’s prestigious Wolf Prize in 2018. McCartney has the distinction of being the only pop star picked for the honor.
The prize–awarded by The Wolf Foundation–is awarded to to laureates in the fields of agriculture, chemistry, mathematics, medicine, physics and the art.
McCartney will split the $100,000 award with Hungarian conductor Adam Fisher. The ceremony will be held at the Knesset — Israel’s legislative headquarters in Jerusalem — that will be hosted by the country’s president, Reuven Rivlin.
