Shore Musicians to Honor David Bowie in Asbury Park
Area musicians will join together this Saturday night (Feb. 2) to honor the memory of the late David Bowie in Asbury Park.
The “David Bowie Tribute Bash 2” is set to take place at McCloones Supper Club, is organized by former Meatloaf touring keyboardist Ray Andersen. Parents know Andersen as mr. Ray, who entertains the peanut set of rockers with songs about anti-bullying, growing up, aliens and dinosaurs. Andersen can also be heard in commercials for Publishers Clearing House.
“For those who missed the first show, this is an exciting musical journey from the master’s work from the 70s & the 80s, as well as some gems he either co-wrote or produced for other well-known artists like Queen, Lou Reed & Mott The Hoople,” Andersen shared on Facebook.
The band will feature Andersen on vocals and guitar, Layonne Holmes on vocals, Arne Wendt, keyboards, Ralph Notaro, guitar, David Anthony, drums, Tommy Labella, saxophone and percussion, Mike Doktorski, bass, with a guest appearance by Reagan Richards of Williams Honor.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in glam attire.
