Robert Plant, Roger Waters Named as O2 Silver Clef Honorees

Rock legends Robert Plant and Roger Waters will be honored next Friday (July 6) at the 43rd annual O2 Silver Clef Awards in London.

The ceremony, which takes place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, is a fundraiser for Nordoff Robbins, a U.K. charity that provides music therapy to ill and disabled people.

“‘The O2 Silver Clef Awards are one of the reasons why Nordoff Robbins is able to continue delivering life-changing music therapy to so many people facing some of the biggest challenges who desperately need our help,” Chief Executive Julie Whelen said in a statement.

Waters, former bassist/singer  of Pink Floyd,  will receive the O2 Silver Clef Award, while  founding Led Zeppelin frontman Plant will be presented with the Integro Outstanding Award.  Additionally, U2, Foo Fighters, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Iron Maiden and The xx will duke it out for fan-voted prize of Ticketmaster Best Live Act.
